Linda Kelly

Principal Linda Kelly Mrs. Kelly spent her early years on the southwest side of Chicago in the Clearing neighborhood where she attended St. Symphorosa Catholic School. At the age of eight, her family moved to St. Linus Parish in Oak Lawn where her parents still reside. After graduating from Mother McAuley High School, in Evergreen Park, she attended The University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, earning a B.S. in Elementary and Early Childhood Education.

Upon graduating from U of I, Mrs. Kelly drove her VW Beetle to Long Island, New York to teach at an alternative community run school on the Great South Bay. A year later, she moved back to her parents' home and began looking for a new position.

Mrs. Kelly had a variety of teaching experiences, including teaching preschool and 3rd grade in the Chicago Public Schools and Evanston, before marrying Mr. Kelly. When their first son, Daniel, was born, Mrs. Kelly left the classroom and the family moved to the suburb of Clarendon Hills. Daniel's brother John arrived a few years later. Mr. and Mrs. Kelly could not be more proud of Daniel (24), who has a Journalism degree from the University of Missouri, and John (21), a Computer Science major at Indiana University.

As a stay at home mom, Mrs. Kelly held various volunteer positions in her children's school district, including being an elected member of the Board of Education. When she returned to teaching, she accepted a position as the Lead Teacher in the preschool of Holy Trinity Catholic School in Westmont. At HTCS Mrs. Kelly's dedication to Catholic education was ignited, becoming an integral part of her faith journey. During her tenure she taught kindergarten and 4th grade, was a New Teacher Mentor, and served on the Leadership Team, championing the development of the Professional Learning Community. In addition, Mrs. Kelly became a member of the Curriculum Advisory Council at the Diocesan level.

In 2013, Mrs. Kelly earned a Masters degree in Educational Leadership along with Administrative Certification through Lewis University. She left Holy Trinity in 2015 to become the Director of Teacher Development and Professional Learning at St. Michael Parish School in Wheaton. It was there that Mrs. Kelly heard the call to serve as the principal of Holy Family Catholic School.

Mrs. Kelly feels right at home at HFCS and loves how small Catholic schools are like a family, a faith family where all are able to know and care for one another. Mrs. Kelly says, "With Christ at the center of all we do, all good things will come."

HFCS Business Manager

Mr. Matt Novak

Mr. Matt Novak Mr. Novak comes to Holy Family Catholic School after working for 20 years as the comptroller of a medium sized family run business. After 3 generations, and 95 years, the ownership sold their interest in the company. He is still working for the individual family members, as needed. While their chief financial officer, Novak supervised a small staff, and coordinated all of the financial and insurance activities of the business.
For 16 years prior to that, Novak was working as a public accountant (CPA). The accounts ranged from wholesale to manufacturing; service companies and offices, and not-for-profits. He was, mainly, assigned to prepare and review tax returns, for individuals and companies; but also did some of the monthly accounting and audits.
Novak has been married 36 years (to Sandie); and has two grown girls, who both live in the area. He also started the formation process, in the Joliet Diocese, of becoming a Permanent Deacon. If all goes well, Novak will be ordained in August, 2018.
