Alma Figueroa

Social Worker: All Grades

Alma Figueroa Alma Figueroa is very excited to be the school social worker. She is a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has a BSW and MSW from Loyola University Chicago with a specialization in School Social Work. Alma has previous experience working with children and families in the foster care system, school environment, providing individual and family therapy and crisis intervention. She is passionate about advocating for children and families and empowering them to change.

Anita Vardijan

Interventionist

Anita Vardijan Anita Vardijan is happy to be the behavior interventionist/social worker at Holy Family. She attended Lewis University and attained a Bachelor's degree in Special Education/Elementary Education and is an Illinois certified teacher in K-8th grade. While teaching middle school for 7 years, she attained a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology and is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. Anita specializes in children, adolescents and teens in the mental health field. Anita has previous experience working in the foster care system and providing individual therapy with an emphasis on play therapy and trauma. She loves that Holy Family allows all of the student's needs to be addressed which will allow for the children to flourish in a Christ-centered environment.

Dana Steinecker (Photo Coming Soon) In the technology lab, students in PreK through 8th grade receive instruction in developmentally appropriate information and technology skills that prepare them to become responsible digital citizens. In addition, classroom teachers collaborate with the technology instructor to create lesson plans that integrate technology into the various content areas. Students use devices (iPads, Chromebooks, and Desktop computers) across the curriculum and throughout the school day.

Mrs. Everson (Photo Coming Soon) Mrs. Everson is excited to join the faculty at Holy Family this year as the Resource Teacher. She has a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Michigan State University and a master’s degree in Literacy, Language and Culture from the University of Illinois (Chicago). She is endorsed as a Reading Specialist and is a certified Dyslexia Practitioner through Wilson Language Training. Mrs. Everson taught Kindergarten and first grade for 8 years, and spent the past three as a resource teacher in the Archdiocese of Chicago. She enjoys spending time with her husband and young son, and attends St. John of the Cross parish in Western Springs. She is looking forward to helping children meet their full potential through individualized instruction this year.

Mrs. Marisa Bianco Marisa Bianco is excited to return to the Holy Family team this year and share her passion for second language learning! She is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and has a Master’s Degree in Education from National-Louis University. She holds a Bilingual-ESL/Spanish Endorsement. Mrs. Bianco has studied abroad in both Mexico and Spain multiple times. During her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband and her two children who attend St. Pius X in Lombard. She is also a personal trainer, and holds a certificate in fitness nutrition. She enjoys helping people lead a healthy and active lifestyle.

Ms. Lavinia Morozan (Photo Coming Soon) Lavinia Morozan in excited to be teaching art at Holy Family School. Mrs. Morozan is originally from Romania, where she earned a Master’s in Fine Arts. She studied to become an art teacher at DePaul University, where she earned a Master’s in Education. Before becoming a teacher, Mrs. Morozan worked as a costume designer and technician with Jeoffrey Ballet, Goodman Theatre and Lyric Opera. When not teaching, Mrs. Morozan enjoys spending time with her husband and two boys, painting, drawing, as well as working in her garden. Ms. Morozan seeks to inspire students to appreciate and create beauty.

Ms. Melissa Marcus (Photo Coming Soon)Melissa Marcus is excited to join the faculty as Physical Education teacher at Holy Family. She recently graduated from Illinois State University as is excited about the year ahead. Her philosophy as a Physical Education teacher is not only to expose students to a variety of activities, but to teach them healthy habits that they can use outside of the classroom. She hopes to inspire students to be healthy and remain active as they grow. In PE students will learn the importance of cardiovascular health, muscular health and flexibility, as well as ways to improve them. In her free time, Ms. Marcus enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing volleyball, and visiting Chicago.

Mr. Andrew Szymanski

Band: Grades 4th - 8th

As band director for schools in Lombard, Villa park, Addison and Wood Dale for 12 of his 16 years teaching grade and middle school band, Mr. Szymanski provides children with a medium for self expression, teamwork, heightened self-esteem, responsibility and a true sense of accomplishment. His major instrument is the Oboe with a minor in Percussion and he performs professionally on the drums with several performing and recording artists.
